peace + love + photography

GREAT Advice

I recently read an interview on Creative Mama {a photo blog} and Deb Schwedhelm, a portrait photographer made some really key points. Two that stood out for me:

1) Be passionate! Whether you’re an emerging or an established photographer, one of the most important concepts in our industry is passion – developing the passion, fueling the passion and even sometimes rediscovering or reigniting the passion. The importance of passion is ongoing, no matter where you are in your photography journey.

2) Find yourself and — be yourself! Sounds simple, yet it is so often overlooked and can be oh-so challenging.

And this quote speaks to me too:

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become.
