The Most Confusing Part of Life Is…
What’s my purpose? Why am I here? What am I supposed to be doing with this time on earth? That’s what I used to think. Until I discovered my purpose. I think purpose is a very important thing. Until you discover your God-given purpose, you live life without direction.
How do you know what your purpose is?
This is a tough question. Some people emerge from the womb knowing they are meant to rock climb, paint portraits, or cure cancer. For most of us, discovering one’s purpose takes time, prayer, and meditation. You have to make a conscious decision to discover what makes you tick, what turns you on. What’s your passion? Are you sure it’s what you think it is?
If you’re having trouble figuring this out, consider what you liked to do as a child. What would you do if money were no object? What do you secretly fantasize about doing but are afraid to admit to anyone? It may not come to you right away. It may not be any one thing. You may start with a theme: like sports, or the arts, or fashion. Then you can narrow down specific interests from there.
For me it’s art + design. I took some design classes and art classes. I wasn’t really fulfilled. Close but not quite there. Then I picked up a camera as a hobby and wham! I could not put it down. I couldn’t see the point of designing unless there was a photo attached to it. So photography it is.
To put it simply ~ Purpose: get some.
